How do I know if this fits my non-JD mower (Toro, Ariens, etc.)?

Pull your old switch and check 3 things: (1) terminal layout and number of spades, (2) cylinder body diameter and threaded length, (3) key blank style. If all 3 match the AM32318 spec, you're good. This switch was widely used as an OEM and aftermarket fit across multiple L&G brands.

Are 2 keys included?

Yes — two keys are included, pre-cut to the new lock cylinder.

Does it fit later JD lawn tractors like LX, LT, or X-series?

No. Those use different switches with safety interlock circuits. AM32318/AM103286 is for the older 100-series (210, 212, 214 mid-1970s to early 1980s) and matching Toro/Ariens/Gravely/Jacobsen units of the same era.
