Does this kit include everything for a complete D722 engine rebuild or are there parts I still need to source?

This kit covers all the major wear components for a full mechanical rebuild — gaskets, pistons, rings, pins, clips, all crankshaft and connecting rod bearings, pin bushings, and thrust washers. It does not include the cylinder head, camshaft, valves, timing belt, or water pump. Those are typically inspected and replaced only if found worn during teardown. For most D722 overhauls, this kit is all you need for the internal engine work.

Should I bore the cylinders before ordering this kit?

This kit includes STD (standard bore) pistons and rings. Before ordering, measure the cylinder bore. If the bore is at or within Kubota's acceptable wear range for the D722 (typically within 0.15mm of 67mm), you can proceed with STD parts and this kit. If any cylinder is worn beyond the service limit, it will need to be bored oversize and you'll need oversize pistons — not included here. Is this kit the same as buying the gasket set, piston set, and ring set separately?

Yes, but significantly more cost-effective. This bundle includes all those components plus the crankshaft bearings, connecting rod bearings, pin bushings, and thrust washers — parts that always get replaced during a proper overhaul. Sourcing those separately would cost considerably more. If you're opening the engine, this kit is the right move.
