Why is this bundle so much more than SKU 1801 (gauge cluster alone)?

This includes the tachometer cable and tach drive adapter in addition to the gauge cluster. The cable runs from the engine's cam-driven adapter up to the back of the tach. If your tach has been dead for a while, the cable and adapter are usually worn too. Buying as a bundle saves $25-40 vs. ordering separately.

Does this fit Ford tractors NOT in the listed range (like 2000, 3000, 4000)?

No — those older models use the SKU 1801 cluster (EHPN10849A) with clockwise rotation. This SKU 1802 is for the later 2310-7610 series which use the counter-clockwise drive.

How do I tell if my tach drive is clockwise or counter-clockwise?

Look at your old tach from behind. With the tach cable removed, manually turn the input shaft and watch which direction the needle moves. CW means the needle rises with clockwise input — order SKU 1801. CC means the needle rises with counter-clockwise input — this kit (SKU 1802).
