Kubota V1702 Piston Ring STD Bobcat

These are two different engines with different bore sizes. The V1702 uses an 82mm bore (this ring set), while the V1902 uses an 85mm bore (SKU 2428). They are not interchangeable. Verify your engine model before ordering — the V1702 is the engine in the Bobcat 743 and many Kubota B-series tractors, while the V1902 is a larger engine used in different models.

This is a per-cylinder ring set. The V1702 is a 4-cylinder engine, so you'll need to order 4 of this part for a complete engine rebuild. If only one cylinder tested low on compression and the bore is still at STD spec, you can replace just that cylinder's rings.

Blue exhaust smoke and high oil consumption strongly indicate worn piston rings, but it's worth ruling out valve seals first since they can produce similar symptoms. A compression test and leak-down test will give you a definitive answer. If compression is low and the cylinder leaks down through the crankcase (rather than the intake or exhaust), the rings are the cause and this kit is the correct fix.
