Common Questions

How do I tell if my problem is the switch or actual low oil pressure?

Connect a mechanical oil pressure gauge in place of the switch (any auto parts store has the adapter fittings). Run the engine and check the actual pressure. If pressure is within Kubota spec at idle and operating speed but the dash light still shows low pressure, the switch is bad — replace this part. If pressure is genuinely low, you have an engine problem (worn bearings, bad oil pump, low oil level, wrong viscosity), and a new switch won't fix that.

Where is the switch located on a V2203?

It threads into the engine block near the oil filter on the side of the cylinder block. A 1/2" or 13mm wrench fits the hex on the switch body. You'll have a single wire connector running to it. Drain a bit of oil first or expect a small spill when you unthread it.

Will this switch fit my Kubota ZD326 zero-turn?

Yes. The ZD321, ZD323, ZD326, and ZD331 zero-turn mowers all use Kubota V-series engines (V2203, V1903, or V2403) and this switch is the direct OEM replacement on all of them.
