Common Questions

Is this everything I need for a complete D1105 rebuild?

Yes — for the engine internals. The kit includes 3 piston kits, 3 ring sets, all bearings (main + rod), bushings, thrust washers, and the full gasket set. What it does NOT include: new head bolts, new rod bolts, valve cover bolts, water pump, oil pump, injectors, or external accessories. If your cylinder head needs work (valves, guides, etc.), order separately.

This is for STD bore only — what if my cylinders need to be bored?

If your cylinders are scored, worn past spec, or out-of-round, take the block to a machine shop. They'll bore the cylinders 0.50mm (or more) oversize. In that case, this STD kit won't work — you'd need to order individual oversize piston kits (SKU 2452-2453 for 0.50 oversize piston+ring) and the corresponding gasket set and bearings.

What other parts should I plan to replace during this rebuild?

Best practice: new head bolts (torque-to-yield — never reuse), new rod bolts (also TTY), water pump (SKU 7130), thermostat, fuel filters, and oil filter. Inspect the oil pump pickup and timing belt/chain. If the head was overheated, send it to a machine shop for pressure test, surface, and valve job — or buy a complete head (SKU 1433).
