FAQ

Common Questions

How is this kit (7135557) different from SKU 2498 / 7135558?

Both kits share the same rod and bore dimensions — 1-1/2" rod and 2-1/4" bore — but they fit different machine generations. SKU 2498 (7135558) is for the older 700-series skid steers (753, 763, 773, 7753) and 220/320/322/323 excavators. This kit (7135557) covers the newer S-series and T-series skid steers (S150, S160, S510, S550, T180, T550) as well as a wider excavator range including E-series models up to the E55. Always match by model number, not just by rod and bore alone.

Does this kit work on both the skid steer lift cylinders and the excavator arm cylinders?

Yes. Part number 7135557 covers the lift cylinder application on S and T-series skid steers as well as the arm and bucket cylinder application on Bobcat 324, 331, 334, 430, and E-series excavators (E14 through E55). If your excavator arm or bucket cylinder is leaking, this is the correct rebuild kit.

My Bobcat S160 loader arms drift down slowly — is the seal kit all I need or do I need a new cylinder?

A seal kit rebuild is the right first step. Arm drift is almost always caused by a worn piston seal allowing hydraulic fluid to bypass internally. As long as the cylinder bore isn't scored or physically damaged, a seal kit will fully restore holding pressure. Inspect the bore for deep scratches when you have the cylinder apart — if it's clean, the kit is all you need.
